Lars Lerin – “Watercolours”
January 18 -March 29, 2020
The Nordic region’s foremost watercolour artist Lars Lerin is exhibiting his works in Stenungsund’s Art Gallery. Offering an intimate and exclusive artistic experience, the exhibition contains several bohemian motifs that have never been shown before.
Lars Lerin’s chose to exhibit in Stenungsund based on, among other things, his admiration for Gothenburg colourist Ragnar Sandberg, who often painted in Stenungsund. The idea for the exhibition was born when Lars Lerin visited Kulturhuset Fregatten and its Gothenburg Colourists exhibition during the spring of 2018.
Born in 1954 in Munkfors in Värmland, Lars Lerin studied at the Gerlesborg School from 1974-75 and at Valand School of Art in Gothenburg 1980-84. Lerin has exhibited his works through both collections and solo exhibitions at art galleries and museums in the Nordic countries, Germany, France and the USA.
In 2018, a large separate exhibition of Lars Lerin was shown at Liljevalch’s art gallery in Stockholm and in 2019 he exhibited in Finland and Norway. Lerin is also a writer and a popular TV personality. In the autumn of 2019, he made his children’s book debut with Trollet är inte hemma (The troll isn’t home), and was previously awarded the August Prize for his book Naturlära (Natural Knowledge).
